What better way to celebrate a big streak-busting win over the Columbus Blue Jackets on Thursday night, than with a little team building and curling.
The Caps left for Ottawa early on Friday, and were welcomed by a healthy dose of winter upon their arrival. The Caps Head Athletic Trainer Greg Smith posted a photo on his Twitter account when the team arrived around noon.

The team called off the practice skate for today in lieu of team building at the Huntling Curling Club in Carp, Ontario. Not surprisingly, Jay Beagle’s team would take the contest. Beagle’s team also included Nate Schmidt, Caps video coach (and part-time goalie) Brett Leonhardt and Caps statistician Tim Ohashi.
Awesome day curling with the pro’s at @HuntleyCurling. Congrats to our Champions: Beags, @nateschmidt29, Stretch and Timmy. #RockTheRedpic.twitter.com/ZCPVFTO29t

The team also held a curling tournament last march when they visited Ottawa. The Capitals will face the Senators on Saturday night at Canadian Tire Centre, before heading to Montreal to face the Canadiens on Monday night.
Alex Ovechkin’s curling team came in second place in the tournament. It was a close one, and Ovechkin is not coping well with the loss:
