Chris Bourque became the 7th player in team history to notch 500 points with the Bears after Christian Thomas scored his 14th goal of the season to tie the game early in the second period.
Christian Djoos earned the primary assist with Bourque recording the secondary assist.
But it wasn’t enough as the Bears fell 3-2 in overtime to the Crunch. Game summary here:

Syracuse got on the board first. With Ben Thomas in the penalty box for a cross-check on Zach Sanford, Mathieu Brodeur tapped in a shorthanded rebound for the 1-0 lead.
Just 26 seconds later Yanni Gourde also added a shorthanded goal making it 2-0 Crunch.
Garrett Mitchell got the Bears to within a goal when he beat Adam Wilcox with 73 seconds left in the first period.
In the second, Hershey got the equalizer from Thomas while on the power play.
Just 3:20 into the game Liam O’Brien and Pierre-Luc Letourneau-Leblond dropped the gloves. Later that period Tyler Lewington and Adam Comrie also served 5 minute fighting penalties. Garrett Mitchell and Luke Witkowski also fought.
Madison Bowey, who had travel issues and did not play against Lehigh Valley was reportedly injured in the first period. Zach Sanford, whose name appeared three times on the AHL transactions page in the last week, was in uniform with the Bears in Syracuse.
Paul Carey’s point-scoring streak came to an end at 19. That is tied for third in team history with Tony McKegney and just four off of Alexandre Giroux’s team best 23.
Vitek Vanecek got the start for Hershey. He stopped 26 of 29 shots in the overtime loss.
Hershey returns to Giant Center Friday to host Bridgeport at 7:00 and Providence Saturday at 5:00.
In other news, the AHL announced a suspension after the Lehigh Valley game.
