Capitals Daily News: Ready for the Bolts

The Caps held an optional skate at 10:30 this morning, in advance of their game against the lightning tonight at Verizon center. Puck drop 7:00PM. This is the final game before the NHL holiday break. The Capitals will return to action Tuesday night in Brooklyn when they visit the Islanders.

OPTIONAL SKATE
Ten players, mostly the young whippersnappers and Brooks Orpik, managed to make it to the optional skate this morning:

LINES
The starting lines for tonight will undergo a few minor adjustments from the previous game, mostly to get guys some playing time. Brett Connolly will replace Daniel Winnik and Taylor Chorney will play for Nate Schmidt:

Braden Holtby was the first goalie off the ice this morning, signifying he will get the start tonight against Tampa Bay.
