Czech Out Our Amazing Tribute Video to Vitek Vanecek

He’s human after all – Vitek’s confidence in net is preceded by a deep breath during the National Anthem.

Many worried how Vitek Vanecek would cope in Hershey without his Czech brother, Jakub Vrana, after Vrana was recalled to Washington November 30th. As it turns out, Vanecek is doing just fine. Catch up with his exploits in our video highlight below from NoVa Caps reader Emma Vonn

In the month of December rookie goalie has three wins in five starts. Of the two losses, one in overtime and the other in a shootout, and recorded a shutout Sunday en route to CCM/AHL Player of the Week honors. It was his third shutout in 14 starts.

To date, Vanecek ranks tied for second in shutouts (3), sixth in GAA (1.85), 14th in wins (8), and sixth in Save % (.930).

This is his first AHL honor, but he has been earning accolades since arriving in the US including ECHL Goalie of the Week, ECHL Rookie of the Month, and was named to the ECHL All-Rookie team.
