The Hershey Bears didn’t have the week they were looking for heading into the holiday break only notching three out of a possible six points, but they finished the 3-in-3 with a solid win on Sunday backed by a strong performance from prospect Vitek Vanecek.
With Sunday’s win, Vanecek improved to 8-3-3-3 with a 1.85 GAA and a .930 SAV% and was named the AHL/CCM Player of the Week! Things are looking good for the rookie goaltender. Let’s check out some of the action from Sunday’s game:
Paul Carey modeling the throwback jerseys for Hall of Fame night.
Aaron Ness is clearly not happy that Christian Thomas scored the gang-up-on-the-goalie goal in warm ups.
I think Thomas is pretty pleased though. 🙂
A better look at the throwback jerseys. Pretty snazzy. (Yes, snazzy. Bring that word back)
John Walton also returned to Hershey to help induct the Hall of Famers.
It’s a dog pile in the crease and Nathan Walker thinks he scored!
But he was mid-celly and realized not so much. Sadface.
It’s alright though. Dietz got the team on the board a little later. Good to see him notch one after being scratched.
And another one from Zach Sill. Everyone is getting goals for the holidays.
Cheesin’
Holiday goal hugs as Paul Carey continues his 18-game point streak.
Fist bumps boys. Nice win.
Happy Captain and a happy team.
Everyone else high fives, but Vitek hugs.
DJOOOOS is your third star of the game.
Paul Carey is the second star.
Leaving the Czech wonder, Vitek Vanecek as your number one star.
He tried sneaking off the ice so he didn’t have to do the post-game interview.
I’m going to give you the mic to say what you want. Vitek: “Merry Christmas, guys!”
