Per the Hershey Bears Public Relations, Zach Sanford is traveling to Washington this evening to re-join the Capitals. Sanford will be officially recalled in the morning. The NHL roster freeze is Monday.
Sanford was curiously a healthy scratch this evening in the Bears game against the Lehigh Valley Phantoms.

I’m told that Sanford will indeed be recalled in the morning because he’s played so well in Hershey. No corresponding move at this time.

With respect to the salary cap, no corresponding move is necessary in order to keep both Jakub Vrana and Zach Sanford on the roster. Caps can now afford both Vrana and Sanford. It is expected that both players will remain on the active roster through the end of the roster freeze, which ends on December 27th.
