The Hershey Bears announced via a press release that Tim McGauley has been added to the Bears roster. McGauley will wear number 39 for the Bears and has been in Hershey all season, but has not been on the active roster due to injury.

McGauley is a native of Wilcox, Saskatchewan. He is a 6’0” forward who typically plays center. He has spent five seasons with the Brandon Wheat Kings in the WHL where he enjoyed very successful seasons including a 105-point output in the 2014-2015 season.

In October of 2015, he signed a three-year entry-level contract with the Washington Capitals and joined the Bears for the Calder Cup Playoff run after his season with Brandon ended in 2016.

With the addition of McGauley and the return of Paul Carey from Washington, the Bears now have 17 forwards on their roster. Injuries to Dustin Gazley, Riley Barber, and Stan Galiev bring that number down to 14 healthy forwards.

Hershey is in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Friday and Saturday night and hosts Rochester on Sunday.
