The Capitals held a morning skate at Kettler ahead of their matchup with the Islanders tonight. They were joined by players Jakub Vrana and Paul Carey, who were called up yesterday, while Zach Sanford was reassigned to Hershey.
Vrana was placed on the second line with Andre Burakovsky and Evgeny Kuznetsov.
Carey didn’t practice today due to an illness. Vrana has 16 points (nine goals, seven assists) in 18 games with Hershey this season and is tied for third in the AHL in goals.
