After suffering injuries to three key forwards (T.J. Oshie, Andre Burakovsky, and Lars Eller) in last night’s game against the Detroit Red Wings, the Capitals have recalled forward Paul Carey from the AHL’s Hershey Bears.
With Oshie week-to-week and Eller day-to-day with upper-body injuries, per the Washington Post’s Isabelle Khurshudyan, the Caps were in need of forward help. Burakovsky did practice fully this morning, so it appears he is fine. But the Oshie and Eller injuries are big blows to the Caps.
Eller is day to day. Oshie is week to week. Both not on the ice today. Burakovsky is practicing.

Carey has recorded 13 points for Hershey this season (four goals, nine assists) and is second on the team in scoring. Carey played four games for the Caps last season, recording one goal.
Carey is second on the #Bears in points with 13 (4 goals, 9 assists) and has recorded a point in 11 straight games.
