Friday night’s game in Chicago was preceded by an emotional and rousing pregame ceremony. The usual five-star national anthem was special on this Veterans Day, but following the ceremonies, two Capitals players made it extra special.
Following the National anthem, TJ Oshie and Karl Alzner took time to shake the hands, and even take selfies, with all of the Veterans who were on the ice for the opening ceremony.

The Veterans, who represented every military campaign from World War II to present day, were on the ice for opening ceremonies and the National Anthem. As the heroes made their way off the ice, Oshie and Alzner made their way over to the Veterans and thanked each and every one of them as they exited the ice.
