Jay Beagle scored twice in the first period on Friday night in Chicago. Both goals gave the Capitals a lead in the period.
The first goal was short-handed, and started by an excellent effort by Matt Niskanen to swat the puck out of the defensive zone. TJ Oshie retrieved the puck and continued up ice, ending with a sweet feed to Beagle for his first of the period.
