It’s been a busy time for the boys, as the 2016-2017 NHL season is now in high gear. As a fan, it’s very easy to lose sight of just how busy these guys get, with appearances, social obligations, meetings, promotions, in addition to everything associated with playing in the NHL. Through the wonders of social media, we decided to pull together some of the digital breadcrumbs from Alex’s “day-to-day” for a “Great 8” day period. Personally, this is dizzying.
Over the years, we’ve done several social media exposes on Alex and his lifestyle. Last summer we watched as Ovi made his way through the Moscow airport. We were simply amazed at the number of fan photos he had stopped for, just between the ticket line and the gate. The summer before last, we watched through social media breadcrumbs as Alex made numerous appearances, seemingly non-stop, throughout the summer.
Sunday, October 16th
Alex began his eight days with an appearance and autograph session at Dulles Expo, in Chantilly, Virginia.
Later that evening, Alex and Tom Wilson attended a party at Club Echostage in DC. Alex and Wilson joined DJ’s Dzeko and Torres on stage, and even took center stage for a bit.
Ovechkin then held a small shindig at his Northern Virginia home. The gathering included a few of his close friends, and Capitals defenseman Dmitry Orlov.

Later that evening he attended the Capitals season ticket holder party at the National Museum of Natural History in DC.
The following day, the team would hold one more morning skate, then board a five-hour flight to Edmonton Alberta, in advance of their game with the Oilers Wednesday night. Whew! I’m exhausted just writing this.
