On Thursday we posted an article on Alex Ovechkin’s man cave, which gave readers a brief glimpse at the Great 8’s palatial party space. In response, NoVa Caps reader Chip Hannan left a brief video in the comments to the post, showing a quick view of his new Capitals man cave, which he designed and built all on his own.
We were quite impressed with Chip’s new space, dedicated to the Washington Capitals, so we thought it would be nice to share with all of you. We asked Chip if he could send us a little more information on the project, which he was kind enough to do.
Chip is an IT Manager for a local company. He says it took three months of nights and weekends to complete the project (including the Caps graphics). As far as materials, it took a total of 40 pallets to make both walls for the room, and was the most laborious and time-consuming aspect of the project.
Most importantly, Chip would like to thank his wife for painting, his son for lending a hand, his father-in-law for help with the framing, and his buddy for helping move materials. Oh, and Chip says he’s more than happy to share the how-tos on the project.

The Ultimate Capitals Man Cave
By Jon Sorensen
Awesome cave! Who’s going to be the first Caps player to show up and enjoy a cold one??!!
I want to be the first “civilian” 🙂
How did you make the Caps Eagle logo? I’d love to duplicate it for my husband.
