A Look Inside Alex Ovechkin’s ‘Man Cave’

Last Sunday night, Alex Ovechkin was kind enough to share a video of he and a few of his friends enjoying themselves in his well-appointed man cave. The video opens with Ovechkin getting a few DJ lessons, and concludes with a few pans of his top-notch party pad.

Since most of us will never get a chance to tour Ovi’s palatial spread, we thought we’d assemble a few of the bits and pieces he has shared to give you a better feel for the superstars top-level man cave. We start our virtual tour with the video he posted last Sunday.

Joining Ovi and his wife on this evening were a few of their closest friends, including Capitals defenseman Dmitry Orlov, DC club owner Pete Kalamoutsos, Designo Motoring’s owner Abe Hamrah, and a few friends from the DMV and Russia.

As the video pans around the room, one begins to recognize a few interesting appointments, including the giant Ovechkin bobblehead Ovi took home from Kettler last season.

In addition, Alex has constructed two large display cases for housing his Dynamo and Team Russia uniforms.

Hockey Memorabilia
One thing is clear, Ovi is a big memorabilia collector, as his man cave is stuffed with goodies from his hockey career. The appointments include a wide assortment of jerseys, pucks and other memorabilia. Two years ago Ovi posted a short video showing just a few of his favorite items in his collection.

Two years ago Alex also posted a picture of himself in front of his Dynamo tribute display. The case includes a jersey from his playing days, as well as a pair of his skates, gloves and a stick from his time with Dynamo Moscow.

Hockey Stick collection
As we reported on last year, the Great 8 has quite an extensive hockey stick collection, which he displays along two walls of his man cave. The sticks range from past legends to current day superstars. You can read more about his stick collection right here:

Other Fixtures
Other fixtures of Ovi’s ‘man cave include a small gym and workout area. Last but not least, Ovechkin’s basement retreat includes room for his black lab Blaik to stretch out and maul the occasional ferocious lion.

It’s pretty cool that Alex has decided to share a few of these images from his life with us, because he surely doesn’t have to do so.
