During the scheduled television timeout at the eight minute mark of the first period, the Washington Capitals paid tribute to Jason Chimera with a “thank you” video.

Joining the Capitals in 2009, Chimera opted to sign with the New York Islanders this summer. The 37-year-old, Unrestricted Free Agent signed a 2-year, $2.25 million per year deal with the New York Islanders on July 1.
