Sunday night, Jason Chimera made his first appearance at Verizon Center since signing with the New York Islanders this past summer. The “Ice Cheetah” took time to say hi to his former teammates.
First, Chimera and Tom Wilson got to say hi:
Then Chimera and Braden Holtby caught up and remembered old times during a break in the action:
And rounding out the reunions, Chimera and John Carlson got caught up, and exchanged pleasantries:

It was pretty clear, all of these reunions were entirely good-hearted, complete with fake falls, fake cross-checks and general play time. It will be for real this coming Saturday.
On July 1st, Chimera signed a two-year deal with the New York Islanders worth $2.25 million a year.

Jason Chimera is a good guy – sorry he’s no longer with the Caps and hope he has a great season with the Islanders.
I agree, John. Wish we could have kept him.
