The Washington Capitals wrap-up their 2016 preseason schedule tonight when they host the New York Islanders at Verizon Center. Puck-drop is 5:00 pm.

GAME NOTES:
Today’s game marks the second of three games between the Capitals and Islanders in a 15-day span. The Capitals defeated the Islanders 2-1 on Oct. 1 in Bridgeport, Conn., and will face New York in the Capitals’ regular-season home opener on Oct. 15.
Former Washington Capital Jason Chimera will make his first appearance at Verizon Center after signing with the Islanders this past offseason.
Lars Eller (1g, 2a), Jay Beagle (3a) and Daniel Winnik (3a) lead Washington in points this preseason, Braden Holtby has posted a 1.53 goals-against average and a .943 save percentage and Philipp Grubauer has registered a 1.29 goals-against average and a .923 save percentage.

Caps prospect Jonas Siegenthaler has been released from training camp roster and will play for Zurich this season. Dealing w/ family matters.

All NHL teams will be required to reduce rosters to a maximum of 23 players by 5:00 PM on Tuesday. Barry Trotz has mentioned that he thinks the Capitals will roll with 22 players for the opening night roster.
