Capitals Top Line Is Cooking in Kansas City

The Capitals top line of Alex Ovechkin, Evgeny Kuznetsov and TJ Oshie has been dominant Wednesday night, in a game seen by very few, other than those at Sprint Center in Kansas City (not televised by either team).

The Capitals top line has controlled a majority of the play, in a game that is featuring projected opening night lineups for both sides. At 2:48 of the first period, Evgeny Kuznetsov made a nice crossing pass to TJ Oshie for the game’s first tally. (Video @Capitals)

TJ Oshie came extremely close to netting his hat trick goal midway through the second period. After two periods of play, the Capitals led 21-10 in shots on goal. Jay Beagle had two assists through the first two periods of play.

Midway through the third period, Daniel Winnik fed Christian Thomas for his second goal of the game, stretching the Caps lead to 4-1. Jay Beagle would get his third assist of the game on the goal. the Blues would add a goal with less than 30 seconds left in the game to make it 4-2.
