The Washington Capitals continued to trim their roster on Tuesday, which is now down to 30 players. These final cuts are tough ones.

The Capitals, as is the case for all NHL teams, will need to trim their roster to 23 players early next week, prior to the first game of the season.

14th Forward Position
The battle for the 14th forward position may be over. It is highly likely that Zach Sanford may have indeed won a roster spot. Something that NoVa Caps predicted back on September 15th. (Here).

Sanford once again impressed the coaching staff in last night’s game versus the St. Louis Blues. The 6′-4″ speedster, with slick skating skills and tenacity on the ice, will be asked to switch to wing in order to make the team, something he successfully accomplished in last nights game.
