A happy day at Kettler, as the Capitals’ captain Alex Ovechkin and Team Russia teammate Evgeny Kuznetsov arrived for Capitals training camp this morning (Wednesday).
Team Russia was ousted from the World Cup of Hockey last Saturday. Coach Trotz is giving all World Cup participants one travel day and two days off before requiring they report to Capitals training camp. Ovechkin’s return to the ice was captured by CSN’s Tarik El-Bashir and Jill Sorenson, respectively.

The new arrivals drew a crowd of Caps youngsters, eager to catch a peek of the superstar.
The return of the Russians leaves only head coach Barry Trotz, Braden Holtby and Philipp Grubauer, who remain out of camp due to the World Cup of Hockey. It’s time to get to work.
