The Hershey Bears are preparing for their 79th season, and they are looking forward to another season of Defending the Den! Earlier today single game tickets went on sale to the public.
The Bears open up their regular season by hitting the road with back-to-back games. Their first opponent is the Rochester Americans on October 14th and then they’ll head to Binghamton and go up against the Senators on October 15th. And then they’ll head to the Den for their 2016-2017 home-opener on Saturday, October 22nd at 7pm against the Bridgeport Sound Tigers. You can review their entire schedule, below and you can download their schedule by clicking here.
Extremely popular Bear games include the “Teddy Bear Toss” on Sunday, December 4th at 5pm when the Bears take on the Syracuse Crunch. Fans are encouraged to bring a teddy bear to toss on the ice when the bears score their first goal! Teddy bears will be collected from the ice and donated to charity.
The Bears will welcome the Toronto Marlies who they defeated in last year’s third round of the Calder Cup Championships on Saturday, February 25th at 7pm.
Always a highly anticipated match-up, the Bears will host their long-term rivals, the Wilkes Barre / Scranton Penguins for the first time this season on Sunday, October 23rd at 5pm.
Tickets may be purchased by calling (717) 508-BEAR, online at TicketMaster.com, or by visiting the Giant Center box office.

Just Announced! If you attend a game in the Den this season, you’ll notice that the Bears have a new “Voice”, Zack Fisch will be the Bears’ Broadcaster.
Zach is a member of the Washington Capitals’ extended family in that he was previously the voice of the Hershey’s ECHL affiliate, the South Carolina Stingrays. You can read the full press release announcing Zach’s appointment by clicking here.
Please join me and the NoVa Caps team in wishing the Hershey Bears another terrific season of hockey!
