Ilya Samsonov, the Washington Capitals number one draft pick in the 2015 NHL entry draft, made a spectacular save in a KHL game on Friday night.
The 19 year-old Samsonov, playing for Metallurg Magnitogorsk of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL), turned in this amazing save against Medvescak.
Samsonov would stop 38 of 39 shots in the game, leading Metallurg Magnitogorsk to a 6-1 win over Medvescak.
Samsonov, 19, could not participate in this years Capitals training camp, in part due to his starting duties for Metallurg Magnitogorsk. Samsonov did however participate in this years Development Camp back in early July at Kettler Capitals Iceplex.
Samsonov spent time on Injured Reserve (IR) earlier this season, but has rebounded nicely, going 4-0 in five games played, with a 92.6 save percentage and a 2.06 GAA.
