Nicklas Backstrom Snipe Helps Team Sweden to 6-3 Win

backstrom_1280

Nicklas Backstrom scored on a snipe from the slot to help Team Sweden to a 6-3 win over Team Finland Saturday afternoon.

Backstrom’s goal was setup by a sweet dish from Filip Forsberg.  Yep, THAT Filip Forsberg (The F’ Word). One has to wonder….what could have been. *Sigh*.

Forsberg would end up with one goal and two assists (3 points) for the game. He would also be named the third star of the game. All of the goal highlights from the game:

Team Sweden is now enroute to Virginia. The team will begin practicing at Kettler Capitals Iceplex tomorrow (Sunday) evening, to begin preparing for their game against Team Europe this Wednesday at Verizon Center.
