The summer officially ended for the Capitals’ John Carlson, Matt Niskanen, TJ Oshie and Team USA this afternoon, as the team held their first practice at Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio.
The Capitals’ TJ Oshie started the first practice on the third line with Ryan Kesler (Anaheim Ducks) and Justin Abdelkader (Detroit Red Wings).
Team USA: Kane – Pavelski – Pacioretty; Wheeler – Stepan – Parise; Abdelkader – Kesler – Oshie; Dubinsky – Backes – Palmieri/Van Riemsdyk.

John Carlson was paired with the Rangers Ryan McDonagh on the top D-line. Matt Niskanen rotated on the third D-line with Jack Johnson and Erik Johnson.
