The World Cup of Hockey pre-tournament games begin this week with Team Sweden and Team Finland kicking things off this Thursday (9/8) at noon. Team Czech Republic takes on Team Russia at 12:30 PM and in the nightcap, Team North America takes on Team Europe at 8:00 PM. (All times EST.)
Practices to be held in the Washington area begin next Sunday (9/11) at Kettler, with Team Sweden taking the ice at 6:00 PM. Pre-tournament games will be held at Verizon Center on Tuesday (9/13) when Team USA takes on Team Finland, and on Wednesday (9/14) when Team Sweden battles Team Europe. The television schedule for the pre-tournament games is as follows:
