News broke on Tuesday morning that Alex Ovechkin had suffered a recent lower body injury, and that his status for the World Cup of Hockey was questionable.

The news that Ovechkin was injured originally surfaced in Moscow via a reporter covering the Russian National team.

Ovechkin was quick to respond and negate the rumors via his Instagram account, posting a video of him skating this morning, and at the end of the video stating “Do not believe the rumors, I am getting ready, peace!”.
