News broke on Tuesday morning that Alex Ovechkin had suffered a recent lower body injury, and that his status for the World Cup of Hockey was questionable.
The news that Ovechkin was injured originally surfaced in Moscow via a reporter covering the Russian National team.
Ovechkin was quick to respond and negate the rumors via his Instagram account, posting a video of him skating this morning, and at the end of the video stating “Do not believe the rumors, I am getting ready, peace!”.

The World Cup of Hockey runs from September 17th through October 1st in Toronto, Canada. Practices and pre-tournament games begin in early September.
