MORNING SKATE
Caps held morning skate at 11:30 this morning. Karl Alzner did not participate in practice. Practice lines at morning skate:
Offensive Lines:
Ovechkin-Backstrom-Oshie
Johansson-Kuznetsov-Williams
Chimera-Richards-Burakovsky
Winnik-Beagle-Wilson
Defensive Pairs:
Weber-Niskanen
Schmidt-Carlson
Orlov-Chorney
Karl Alzner lifted weights outside of the Caps locker room, and is likely to play tonight.
Assume Weber is out, and Alzner will skate with Niskanen on the top pair, as usual.

Brooks Orpik’s response to suspension:
Brooks Orpik says it’s a fair suspension.. Definitely a late hit.. Says he spoke to Maatta but wouldn’t elaborate.. #CapitalsTalk..

Tom Wilson with an astute observation:
Tom Wilson: “I don’t think it’s fair for guys that have the talk shows after the games to be calling Orpik a predator.”
