T.J. Oshie wasted no time in going after Brayden Schenn, in retaliation for his cheap shot on teammate Evgeny Kuznetsov in game 4. 

Schenn was widely criticized for his cheap shot, a cross check to Kuznetsov’s knees after play had ended late in game 4.

The fight set the tone at Verizon Center, drawing a huge response from the crowd. Schenn had apologized earlier for the play, but it didn’t seem to mean much to the Capitals.

Schenn on Kuzy hit: “All I’m going to say about that is it was a pretty dumb play by me. There’s no reason for that & I’ll leave it at that”
