Tonight during the first game break the Washington Capitals welcomed “home” fan favorite back to Verizon Center.
Fans were treated to highlights of Brouwer’s tenure with the Washington Capitals that included his famous “ice dancing skills” and his game winning goal at the 2015 Winter Classic when the Capitals beat the Chicago Blackhawks. Brouwer’s tribute was set to “Gangnam Style”.
Caps fans were on their feet to welcome a former favorite son back home. Meanwhile, Brouwer waved to the fans and seemed to say, “I didn’t know they were going to do this” to his teammates on the bench.
