MEET THE CAST
The NoVa Caps Podcast team is made up of a group of four of our contributors, who you may recognize if you are a regular reader of our content. A short summary of each of the team members is included  for your reference, below.

Gabe Mead
NoVa Caps Podcast Moderator
Favorite Team: Washington Capitals
Gabe’s biggest love in life is the Washington Capitals. He also loves his German shepherd Maxine, a cup of coffee, and the Washington Redskins, but none of these things come close to his love and passion for Washington Capitals Hockey. Gabe never played hockey growing up, but he loves to watch the sport and to venture out to the Verizon Center for games. Gabe always arrives to the stadium an hour early so that he can ensure to catch the warm-ups so that he can get as close to the players as possible. Gabe says that watching the Caps this year has been such a pleasure, and he’s very excited to act as the moderator for the NoVa Caps Podcasts. He says: LET’S GO CAPS!!

Gabe, currently in college, is in his senior year and attends James Madson University (JMU). He is majoring in exercise science focusing in pre-physical therapy. Gabe will graduate in May, 2016 and he resides in Winchester, VA.

Andrea “Andi” Sobolik
NoVa Caps Podcast Team Member – Specialization: NHL Eastern Conference
Favorite Team: Andi doesn’t have one!
Andi is from Denver, Colorado and has lived in the DMV for the past several years. She has been an avid follower of the sport for 25 years while professing no allegiance to any one team, but has always preferred the Eastern Conference style of play.

Andi has been a member of the NoVa Caps staff since the beginning of the 2015-2016 season, consistently writing the weekly Eastern Conference Wrap-Ups, with the occasional focus pieces on special teams, and defense. Andi brings a keen sense of knowledge of the sport, and a great depth of statistical data for many of the NHL players and their respective teams.

George Foussekis
NoVa Caps Podcast Team Member – Specialization: NHL Western Conference
Favorite Team: Vancouver Canucks
If you are wondering about George’s funny last name, yes, he is Greek! He was born and raised in Norfolk, VA, and he’s an Old Dominion University graduate (Go Monarchs!). George is a sports fanatic – his variety of favorite teams include: football (LA Rams), college football (ODU), hockey (Vancouver Canucks), baseball (Washington Nationals). He even enjoys some professional wrestling (WWE).

Outside of his humongous sports world, his hobbies include going to the beach and hanging out with friends. He also likes to travel, especially to the state of Florida. George enjoys writing and podcasting, and he loves to provide some insight to hockey fans everywhere. George is very passionate and enjoys to fully engage fans in sports related discussions!

Scott Zweibel
NoVa Caps Podcast Team Member – Specialization: Goalies
Favorite Team: Washington Capitals
An avid Washington Capitals fan, hockey blogger, and self-prescribed “student of the game” of hockey, Scott has been passionately watching the Caps since attending his first game in 1979. A former season ticket holder, who now lives in Los Angeles; Scott keeps track of the Caps, and a keen eye on all things in the NHL. He enjoys traveling to road games, making his way back to DC to visit hockey friends and family, and catching Caps action at the Verizon Center.

Scott has played competitive hockey for much of his life, and currently plays league hockey in LA. In addition to playing the game, Scott has been a certified USA Hockey referee, a coach, a mentor to young players, and has volunteered at a variety of Caps fans and charity events. Being a lifelong goaltender, Scott applies his positional experience to offer his critical perspectives and observations on NHL goalies, and rising prospects.
