Ten years ago, Alex Ovechkin was entering the second half of his rookie season. He was the NHL’s most electrifying player and one of its brightest personalities. He was a 20-year old kid enjoying life.

Now, Ovechkin is a 30-year old veteran and will be playing in his 800th career game. Currently, just three goals away from No. 500, Ovechkin has already solidified himself as a surefire Hall of Famer with 930 points  (497 goals, 433 assists). He’s the NHL’s most dangerous goal-scorer and needs just three to become the 43rd player in NHL history to reach the 500-goal mark. Congrats Alex!
