Friday night Jason Chimera achieved the career milestone of playing in 900 NHL games. Chimera, who joined the Capitals via trade in 2009, is long regarded as one of the fastest skaters on the ice.

With this notch in his belt, the uber fast Chimera is one skate closer to playing 1000 regular season games, a feat only 290 other players have achieved since the NHL’s inception in 1917. He has earned 345 points in his 900 career games with Edmonton, Columbus and Washington.

This milestone comes during a breakout 2016 season for Chimera. He is proving himself to be a playmaker and a key contributor to the Capitals successes. This season he has achieved 16 points in 30 games earning assists tonight against the Lightning and on 12/14 against Pittsburgh, back-to-back points for assists on power plays against the Lightning and the Maple Leafs and his second consecutive multipoint game.
