Hey guys, what’s up? I’m Luís Felipe from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Unfortunately, hockey isn’t popular around here, but I’m a Caps’ fan since 2000 (I was 6 years old), after playing NHL Faceoff 2000 for PlayStation (One) with my cousin, and I loved that eagle logo, reason that made me a fan of the team. In April I realized a childhood dream, that was buying this jersey after a long search. The other ones were L, XL or very expensive, but fortunately I found that one. I wanted a Peter Bondra’s, my favourite player ever, but I think I’m gonna try to customize hehehe.
In 2013, I created the Washington Capitals Brasil fanpage on fb, and now I have a few friends in the project with me, creating and managing a blog and a twitter account (also a whatsapp group). Just wanted to share my story and happy about being in this group, happy that I can talk/know with Caps’ fans from everywhere,
The Washington Capitals Brasil was founded in 2013. The project’s objective it’s to spread the sport and the Capitals in Brazil, a country in which hockey fans are a minority.
The project started with Facebook. A few later, a Twitter account was created for the games’ coverage in real-time. A blog was created also, but was replaced by a website.
The translation tools in the website can turn possible to non-brazilian/non-portuguese speakers to read/follow the website and read its (Brazilian) fans’ point of view, resulting in an interaction between us and worldwide fans.
Feel free to contact us.
