The All-Swede Line to Make Its Season Debut for The Capitals

The Mad Scientist is at it again. As reported by Isabelle Khurshudyan of the Washington Post, Washington Capitals Head Coach Barry Trotz has once again emerged from his laboratory with changes to the offensive lines.  It was reported on Friday that Trotz is now going with an all-Swedish second line (Johansson-Backstrom-Burakovsky), which will likely make its debut tonight (Saturday) against the Toronto Maple Leafs.

swedesAs Khushudyan reported, Trotz said “I felt [Burakovsky’s] skill set wasn’t being maximized with the Beagle/Chimera.”  Trotz added, “It might not be permanent. Might just be for a game or two.” Trotz has initially labeled the new line “Tre Kronor” (Swedish for Three Crowns).

Lost in the latest line shake-up is the apparent demotion of Justin Williams.  However, one thing is for sure, these new lines will probably not last very long.
