The Capitals returned to a normal routine this morning (Friday) in preparation for tomorrow’s season opener against the New Jersey Devils. The Devils have a back-to-back set of games to open the season, hosting the Winnipeg Jets tonight before making their way to Washington.

As per Chuck Gormley, Dmitry Orlov, Taylor Chorney tell me they’re not sure whether they are in the lineup Saturday vs. Devils. Both are ready.
News and Notes
As per Isabelle Khurshudyan “Walked up to Brooks Orpik in dressing room. Said if I wanted to know if he’s playing tomorrow, he doesn’t have an answer.” Orpik said the decision would be up to the doctor, though he said he doesn’t know when he’ll see doctor. Trotz said he expects him to play.
As per Katie Brown, Trotz on Orpik: “I would say that he is a go, but we’ll make that determination after the morning skate.”
Derek Roy, recently in Washington’s training camp on a PTO (and released) has signed with SC Bern of Switzerland’s National League A.
CSN will demo an innovative computer-controlled aerial camera system known as SkyCam at Verizon Center during upcoming Wizards and Capitals games. The camera made a test run during the preseason, but met mixed reviews. Some folks in the arena noted the camera would be in their line of sight at times, while others noted an unfavorable experience while watching the game on television.
Nearly 60 children and adolescents from American Special Hockey Association programs will have the opportunity to skate with and learn from Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin when he hosts a skating session on Monday, Oct. 12, at 12:30 p.m. at Kettler Capitals Iceplex in Arlington, Va.

At 11:00 a.m. this morning, approximately 336 tickets remained on Stubhub for the season opener on Saturday. Current prices range from $58 for upper level seats to $399 for glass seats (Row A) in section 102.
Tickets on the Washington Capitals official ticket exchange range from $53 for upper level to $1,053 for Section 107.
