A relatively quiet informal skate once again at Kettler this morning (Monday), as the team gears up for the opening of camp this Thursday (off-ice Thursday, on-ice workouts start Friday). All players, minus those participating in the rookie tournament, were present for the typical informal drills, 5-on-5 scrimmage, concluding with end-to-end skating.

As per Jill Sorenson, Orpik & Backstrom conducted skate testing this morning. Orpik is wearing a type of brace over a wrap on his wrist, he said for 1 more week.. & it still allows pretty good movement.  Orpik says his goal is to get at least 1 exhibition game in, but needs to stay patient.

Alex Ovechkin arrived at Dulles earlier this afternoon. The first pre-season game is slated for one week from tonight.
