News and Notes from Capitals Morning Skate (09-12-15)


A relatively quiet morning at Kettler on Saturday, as attention sifts focus to the rookie tournament in Estero, Florida. No new player reports.  Head Coach Barry Trotz and the coaching staff left this morning for the Rookie Tournament.

Rookie Tournament

Practice lines: Vrana-Stephenson-Barber, Herbert-Boyd-O’Brien, Walker-Koules-Elgestal, McGauley-Cox-Wilson/DeBlois. Defensive pairings Siegenthaler-Bowey, Djoos-Lewington, Texeira-Hobbs, Gibbs-Basso. News and Notes
The Washington Capitals and Verizon Center will build the ice surface at Verizon Center on Monday, Sept. 14, through Tuesday, Sept. 15. The placement of logos and markings will occur after 2 p.m. on Sept. 15.

Training Camp Day
The Washington Capitals will host Caps Training Camp Day on Saturday, Sept. 19, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Kettler Capitals Iceplex. More info here.

Jon has been a Caps fan since day one, attending his first game at the Capital Centre in 1974. His passion for the Caps has grown over the decades, which has included time as a season ticket holder, social media and community organizer, and most recently led to the founding of NoVa Caps in 2014. Jon earned a Bachelor's of Science in Civil Engineering at Old Dominion University, and is a Systems Engineer during intermissions, which has been instrumental in supporting his Capitals habit.
