News and Notes From Capitals Morning Skate

A relatively quiet morning at “The Kettle”. Michael Latta is the only new arrival today.   In an interview with @alex_prewitt, Michael Latta noted he dropped around 10-15 pounds this summer, working on his speed. Said his goal is never being out of the lineup this season.

Already practicing at Ketler: Nicklas Backstrom, Marcus Johansson, Chris Brown, Justin Williams, Braden Braden Holtby, Philipp Grubauer and Mitch Korn are back : They join Karl Alzner, Jason Chimera, John Carlson, Matt Niskanen, Evgeny Kuznetsov, Dmitri Orlov, Stanislav Galiev, Liam O’Brien, Nathan Walker, Jakub Vrana, Vitek Vanecek, and Connor Carrick.

Those not yet to return: Alex Ovechkin (9/13), Brooks Orpik, Jay Beagle, T.J. Oshie, Nate Schmidt, Andre Burakovsky (9/10), Tom Wilson, Brooks Laich, Justin Peters and Taylor Chorney.

The Capitals will practice again tomorrow (Saturday) morning, and take Sunday and Monday off.
