Caps general manager Brian MacClellan stated today that Brooks Orpik had wrist surgery over the summer due to issues that he’s experienced that haven’t affected his play. He expects that Orpik will make a complete recovery and will be 100% healthy and ready to start the season. Backstrom’s recovery is progressing well; he’s recently started skating again and that is a positive sign.
