The Washington Capitals announced that Brook Orpik underwent successful wrist surgery today.  According to the official press release, the surgery was conducted this morning.  The release also stated that it is “anticipated” that Orpik will return to full hockey activities in two weeks.

Orpik makes the third Capital (including Fehr) that has undergone some form of surgery since the season ended.  As you may recall, all Capitals were asked if they needed any kind of surgery as a part of their exit interviews with the media. All Capitals stated they would not need surgery.
