Capitals Sign Forward Zach Sill to a one-year Deal

Caps are finalizing a one-year, two-way deal with F Zach Sill. Sill logged his first full NHL season in 2014-15 — 63 games between Pittsburgh and Toronto. Went over in the Winnik trade.  Orpik on Sill: ‘He’s an awesome kid. A tough guy, great team guy.”  (Alex Prewitt/WaPo)  The deal is most likely a move to bolster the AHL experience in Hershey.

Sill will rejoin several old teammates from his days with the Penguins organization as well as his former Wilkes-Barre/Scranton coach, Todd Reirden, who is currently an assistant coach with the Capitals.

“They came with an offer and it was a good one,” Sill said. “I think there’s a good chance I can play there and they have a good strong team. I think it’s a good situation to go into.”

Sill and Wilson went toe-to-toe last season on Jan 28, 2015, at the Verizon Center .
