As the fan ballot for the 2019 NHL All-Star Game in San Jose got underway on Saturday at noon, NHL.com made their mock All-Star selections.

They selected two Washington Capitals to appear in the All-Star Game in San Jose: captain Alex Ovechkin, who is tied with Boston Bruins forward David Pastrnak for third in the NHL with 19 goals, and defenseman John Carlson, who is currently third among NHL defensemen with 27 points, to represent the team in San Jose.

Ovechkin was captain of the Metropolitan Division last season, his seventh year representing the Capitals in the All-Star Game. Goaltender Braden Holtby also played in the All-Star Game last season for the third consecutive year.

Carolina Hurricanes forward Sebastian Aho, Philadelphia Flyers forward Claude Giroux, New Jersey Devils forward Taylor Hall, Pittsburgh Penguins center Evgeni Malkin, Columbus Blue Jackets forward Artemi Panarin, Penguins defenseman Kris Letang, Blue Jackets defenseman Seth Jones, New York Islanders goaltender Thomas Greiss, and New York Rangers goaltender Henrik Lundqvist were selected as the other Metropolitan Division All-Stars.

The rosters will likely be announced at the beginning of January.

You can vote for Capitals players, current and former, 10 times per day on NHL.com.
