Capitalsville to Host a Game 5 Watch Party on their Town Green

Capitalsville Pep Rally

Just in case you haven’t finalized your plans for where you’ll be watching Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Finals, the Town of Capitalsville would like to extend an invitation to you and your friends and family! As you may have heard, the Town of Lovettsville, VA has temporarily changed their name to “Capitalsville” for the duration of the 2018 Stanley Cup Finals. The Town Mayor, Mayor Robert J. Zoldos II, an avid Capitals fan, came up with the name change idea as a way to give the town’s economy a boost. And it’s working!

Just yesterday (Monday, June 4th), the Washington Capitals and a few special guests including the team mascot, a few of the Red Rockers, Slapshot and former Washington Capital forward Peter Bondra, paid a visit to the town for a Stanley Cup Pep Rally!

And the Mayor of Capitalsville was also invited to join in on the NHL Networks’ NHLNow!

Currently, the town is getting ready to host a Game 5 Watch Party, on Thursday, June 7th on their Town Green. In their press release they share that:

“Capitalsville” will offer another alternative to watching Stanley Cup Game 5. If you can’t get a ticket to watch the game in person and if going to D.C. for a viewing party is too far, Capitalsville will be hosting a viewing party on our Town Green for you. Join hundreds of other CAPS fans as we show the game on a movie screen in the Walker Pavilion!

The party will start at 7pm with pre-game fun. Hockey arena music will welcome you to the Green and get you in the mood to cheer for the CAPS! Capitalsville will also have some games to play including the “Sauce” game to show off your passing skills and for those with “lower” skills we will have a knee hockey rink for short games.

Food and drink will be available for purchase from a few local businesses on the Green. Other restaurants in Town will offer game specials that you can take-out. Popcorn and snow cones will be provided by the Lovettsville Lions Club at the party.”
