Report: Philipp Grubauer Wasn’t Selected by Vegas, Nate Schmidt Going to Vegas

At 6:31 p.m. we got more of a clue on which Capitals player will get selected by Vegas. Isabelle Khurshudyan of The Washington Post broke the news. It is now highly likely, but not official, that Nate Schmidt was the pick. 

Tonight we will know the official word so grab a blanket, some popcorn, and a stuffed animal to get you through this. The NHL Awards and Expansion Draft begin at 8:00 pm ET on NBCSN.

[UPDATE: 7:11 PM] CSN’s Jill Sorenson confirmed Schmidt was selected:
